Services Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting you and any data (anonymous or otherwise) that we collect about you online. In here we explain how we use your personal information.

We reserve the right to make changes to our Privacy Policy. Any such changes shall appear here and become effective immediately. Your continued use of our website is taken as meaning that you agree to any such changes.

Personal information

To use our services, we need your name and email address if you’re authenticating using your institutional Identity Provider. Your email will also be used to send you notifications and newsletters. Notifications can be toggled from Configuration.

You can unsubscribe from newsletters anytime answering to them or sending “Unsubscribe now” to redclara_comunica@redclara.net

We also collect and store, when it’s provided by you, information about your Home institution, profession, Role, Country or Education grade. Your e-mail won’t be visible to other members of the systems. However, your name or other information could be. Your e-mail can be visible to your National Research and Education Network if it’s a RedCLARA’s member.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on the web browser on your computer when you visit a website. Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between web pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving the user experience.

Collected data

When you visit this website, we log your Internet Protocol (IP) address and use cookies to recognise your device (computer or mobile for instance) when you return to our site.

We do not collect any other information and have no access to any of your personal details. Allowing certain cookies is a condition of using this website and if you prevent them, we cannot guarantee your security or predict how our website will perform during your visit.

Uploaded data

You have the option to upload files (including your avatar, photos, videos or other files). The avatar is visible to other users. The avatar and other files can be deleted using the component you used to upload them (Account Settings, Wiki, Photos upload, etc.)

Location data

When you log in to RedCLARA’s systems we automatically store your IP address so that you can identify and log out of other devices remotely. You can choose to log out by closing all the windows of the browser used to login.

Managing your personal data

Security

We strive to follow best practices for securing your data. Among others we use encryption for data in transit using SSL.
Any information we got from you or you upload, including name, e-mail, avatar or other data uploaded will not be disclosed by us to any external parties, except your e-mail, which could be send to your National Research and Education Network.

Deletion

Deleting your account is a permanent action that will delete all personal data related to your account. RedCLARA can keep your name when you delete your account. This is required to keep your comments and contributions to the communities you belong to and that remain after you leave the system. If you want to remove it, it will be required that you or the communities’ manager delete your communities.

Storage

We will keep your personal data up to 30 days after you delete your account. We may keep some of your information if necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to enforce our agreements or to support business operations or other communities where you were a member, as described before.

Portability

To have all your data that we store sent to you, send us a request by email to vsog@redclara.net. We will respond within two weeks.

Third parties

RedCLARA do not sell or trade your personal data to outside parties. We do share some data with our National Research and Education Networks partners for statistical analysis or fulfill legitimate business goals of this kind of Organizations.

We may release your information when we believe it is appropriate to comply with the law.
