"Integrating cultures for the creation and exchange of knowledge:  providing opportunities for the future" is the theme of the  edition 2012 of the International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD 2012) to be held from 12 to 14 of September at the Hotel Los Delfines of Lima, Peru.

This is the main academic event dedicated to the electronic theses and dissertations and also addresses issues related to open access, scientific publishing process and the development of digital repositories and other aspects of international importance around information technology.

For the first time the event will be held in a country of Latin America and its program includes lectures, plenary sessions, workshops and poster presentations that are designed to provide a variety of approaches about digital preservation, technological advances in institutional repositories, rights policies, Copyright and intellectual property, digital libraries, national and international initiatives on open access and other related topics.

The lectures are aimed at academic authorities, professionals from various disciplines, librarians, researchers, teachers, technicians and all related with the experience of knowledge management.
