70 selected students will receive full financial support to participate in the Latin American eScience Workshop 2013
Sponsored jointly by FAPESP and Microsoft Research, the Workshop will be carried out in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from May 13 to 15, 2013. The selected students (Brazilian and students from abroad) will receive full financial support for travel, hotel and meal costs. Students application deadline is February 28th, 2013.
In Brazil, researchers have been working together to increase the understanding of tropical ecosystems, human impact on the environment, biogenetics, and biodiversity. These efforts are providing new opportunities to improve the capabilities in data-intensive research and strengthen the eScience research community. The Latin American eScience Workshop 2013 will bring together more than 150 participants — including students and researchers from all over the world — to explore collaboration and research opportunities in areas such as environmental sciences, bioenergy, biodiversity, health and digital humanities. The workshop topics include:
