In July: Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Internet Governance Forum

The ninth version of LACIGF will be held in San José, Costa Rica, from July 27 to 29, 2016.

(Source: LACIGF) The city of San Jose, Costa Rica, will receive between the 27th and the 29th of July the LACIGF, the Latin American and the Caribbean Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Internet Governance Forum. It is an event held every year since 2008 and has provided a place for meeting and multisectoral dialogue for actors from governments, private sector, technical community, academia and civil society organizations to present and discuss their views on the Internet Governance agenda in the region.

The public consultation period to set the topics of LACIGF agenda is open until the 19th of May. For this year, the LACIGF Program Committee is formed by three (3) representatives of each interest group, including the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean. The Internet Governance Forum will be held between December 6 and 9, in Guadalajara, Mexico.
