GISELA disseminate the Grid in Latin America
Expired
The project Grid Initiatives for e-Science virtual communities in Europe and Latin America has just present the GISELA site of dissemination http://www.cecalc.ula.ve/gisela/ that will integrate different links and notes of interest related with the topic of Grid, as a way to optimize the periodic information generated from research communities in Latin America.
From the site, which is in English and Spanish version, it displays the first edition of the project Bulletin, which highlights generated progress and a important summary of training activities in the region.
This informative edition has a special article entitled "It is GISELA time" and it a brief tour of the projects that predate GISELA, highlighting a legacy of 19 institutions from 15 countries in Europe and Latin America, prepared to strengthen transition mechanisms of the e-science model in the region.
Gisela is a project cofunded by the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission (FP7), that began last September and whose primary purpose is to provide research communities of Latin America a strong and stable network in Grid that interconnects regional resources to increase the computing power or optimize performance in response time.
For details of the GISELA project visit the official website: http://www.gisela-grid.eu/
In the editorial of the first bulletin, GISELA Project coordinator, Bernard Marechal, emphasizes the importance of the experience transition team to RedCLARA as a way of ensuring the sustainability of Grid initiatives in Latin America.
