Educa Brazil Federation will provide infrastructure to confederation of repositories of learning objects.

The Brazilian academic network RNP search institutions interested in participating in the Experimental Service Educa Brazil Federation (FEB-SE). The SE-FEB consists in providing an infrastructure for national confederation of repositories of learning objects (LOs) with perspectives to their reuse, from a single point of search.

The Federation Educa Brazil (FEB) aims to organize various repositories in a hierarchical system called federation, which centralizes the information contained in these repositories into a single portal.

For this, the service provides mechanisms to integrate multiple repositories of LOs through the recovery of their metadata, making them accessible through a system of global search. The trial service FEB, which was originated in studies of two RNP Working Groups conducted between 2008 and 2010, is intended to any educational institution or research you want to expand the reuse and sharing their repositories of LOs.

In the experimental phase of the service will be up to seven institutions selected members of RNP. Each institution will collaborate with the working group by adding their repository of LOs in a federation trial, and, once selected, must send a formal indication of participation signed by the dean or top manager.
