Provide one year of advanced level instruction in the areas of Particle Physics and Field Theory and Condensed Matter is the objective of a Diploma program that is taught in Argentina.

Students from universities in Argentina and Latin America are invited to enroll in the Diploma / MA in the subject of Particle Physics and Field Theory and Condensed Matter, to be issued from August 1, 2011.

The program, which offers a variety of courses and will last one year, will be given by the Instituto Balseiro in Bariloche, Argentina.

Some of the topics to be covered are astrophysics, cosmology, field theory and its applications, mathematical physics, strongly correlated electrons, superconductivity, semiconductor physics and low dimensional systems.

Students who achieve optimal performance will be eligible to join the Master in Physics at the Instituto Balseiro and will graduate studying at least one additional semester Diploma.

Those interested can apply until 1 May and must possess a degree equivalent to Bachelor in Physics. The scholarship opportunity is open,
