TICAL 2011 will start tomorrow
The unprecedented technological event will be held for the first time in Panama City, the 20th and 21th June. Everything is ready for the First Regional Conference of Directors of Network Technology in Latin America (TICAL) to be held in the City of Knowledge, which will bring together over 100 experts from the technological world.
With the presence of authorities in Panama, representatives of the IDB, RedCLARA and the European Union, the conference TICAL 2011 will start tomorrow, "Managing ICT in university settings," which aims to be a space for CIOs and representatives from universities across the region to exchange experiences and find ways to address common challenges.
At the opening will be present Galileo Solis, IDB representative in Panama, and José Luis Martínez-Prada, charge d'affaires of the Delegation of the European Union to Costa Rica and Panama, as well as the Executive Director of CLARA, Florencio Utreras, and Panama authorities.
"Through this regional event will open new venues for collaboration in the development and implementation of ICT services for Latin American universities," said Florencio Utreras, Executive Director of CLARA.
With the significant presence of international speakers, TICAL 2011 will address various topics organized around the following areas: Governance of ICT (strategic alignment, resource management and risk, delivering value), Service management (cloud services, management and procurement policies, success stories) Knowledge management (management of social tools, digital repositories, content management platforms), and Advanced Networks (specialized services, remote instrumentation, access to wider communities).
