Does your innovation or research project contributed significantly to the use of the internet as a catalyst for change in Latin America and the Caribbean? Until August 5, 2011 will be open the call for projects and initiatives focused on the areas of access, freedom, development and innovation.

FRIDAThanks to the support of the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean (LACNIC), the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Internet Society (ISOC) the 2011 edition of the FRIDA/IGF 2011 award has opened the call for projects and initiatives focused on the areas of access, freedom, development and innovation.

With the FRIDA/IGF 2011 award, the Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in the Latin America and Caribbean seeks to recognize those projects and initiatives that contribute significantly to the use of the internet as a catalyst for change in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Applications are open until August 5, 2011 and the prizes include the possibility of be part of the Internet Governance Forum, IGF 2011 that will be held in Nairobi, Kenya on 27-30 September 2011.
