EIC Workshop, International Meeting of IDB Communities: August 24th and 25th, Barranquilla, Colombia

Expired

In the context of the Project IDB ATN/OC-10062-RG Strengthening of Regional Academic Advanced Networks through CLARA as Regional Public Goods IV Component - Regional Demonstrative Cases, on August 24th and 25th 2011, will be held the EIC Workshop, International Meeting of Communities.

This initiative is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB, within the program of Regional Public Goods (RPGs) and with the institutional and human support of:

  • Universidad del Atlántico
  • Asociación Red Universitaria de Tecnología Avanzada del Caribe, RUTA Caribe
  • Red Nacional Académica de Tecnología Avanzada, RENATA.

This meeting is part of the IV Component of this project “Regional Demonstrative Cases”, executed and coordinated by RedCLARA and that has the following objectives:

  • Bring together each of the coordinators and 4 or 5 of researchers representing research communities included in the mentioned component.
  • Strengthen national advanced networks and regional networking through RedCLARA through the implementation of projects with regional social impact.
  • Support and strengthen the formation of research communities in Latin America.
  • Generate personal contacts and institutional synergies among members of research communities.

Participating communities are involved in areas such as Health (Tropical Diseases) Natural Disasters (Seismology and Tsunami) and Renewable Energy (Bioenergy).

Each community will work in the initial design of a project proposal to be presented to a source of international financing in short term, for this reason the meeting represents an interesting opportunity to increase the work of the research communities in these topics of regional relevance.
