RAICES organized event with Salvadoran researchers
Salvadoran NREN held a conference about advanced networks in Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador (UTEC). RAICES authorities presented papers about the advantages of RedCLARA, services available on www.redclara.net and projects implemented in Latin America to an audience of 50 researchers and academics.
Red Avanzada de Investigación, Ciencia y Educación de El Salvador (RAICES) and the Universidad Tecnológica (UTEC) organized a conference about the advantages of RedCLARA. Around 50 researchers and academics from Salvadoran universities attended to UTEC, last week.
The president of RAICES, Rafael Ibarra, gave a presentation on advanced networks. He spoke about how RedCLARA was formed at Latin America and how institutions could join to it. He also exposed about the National Research and Education Network (NREN) and all the benefits that universities may have to join it.
RAICES executive director, Juan José Sanchez, shared with participants the experiences of Latin American projects that run over advanced networks. These projects are made in various disciplines (biodiversity, telemedicine, natural disasters and digital repositories) and were presented recently at an international event in Guatemala where Sanchez attended.
To conclude, RAICES Communication Officer, Ixchel Pérez, referred to the services available on the website of RedCLARA, with a special emphasis on how they promote collaborative work at communities of researchers and academics in the region.
The event will be repeted this week in the western region of the country at the Universidad Católica de El Salvador, located in Santa Ana.
