From Mexico: IV meeting of the Project ‘Federated Network in Latin American’
ExpiredThe meeting aims to establish a framework of common policies and agreements for the repositories of scientific literature in the region.
With the aim of establishing a regional strategy and an interoperability and management framework to the creation of a Latin American Federated Network of Institutional Repositories for Scientific Documentation, the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) organized the fourth meeting of the project with the participation of managers and technical members of the partners countries to be held in Mexico City from 12th to 14th, October 2011.
This initiative seeks to store, share and promote the scientific production of institutions of higher education and research in order to support the scientific and technological development in Latin America.
The four components of its development are: the first, to consolidate an agreed regional strategy of the Federated Network, the second, to establish a framework of common policies and agreements based on results of consulting and previous agreements, subject to be discussed during the meeting in Mexico City, the third component, to develop and implement the project, and the fourth, to design a training strategy.
The opening of the meeting was led by Carmen Gloria Labbé, Director of Innovation and Development of RedCLARA, Dr. Leticia Torres, Deputy Director of Scientific Development of the National Council for Science and Technology, CONACYT of Mexico, and Carlos Casasús, Director of the Mexico's national network, CUDI. In the event also participated representatives of member countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.
