RAICES continues promotion days

Professors and researchers from Universidad Francisco Gavidia participated in a gathering which RAICES authorities showed them all the benefits of advanced internet can offer to the collaborative projects.

The activity is part of a plan to promote use of advanced networks and applications among members of RAICES, which has been developing in recent months.The president of Advanced Network Research, Science and Education of El Salvador (RAICES), Rafael Ibarra, talked about the benefits of advanced internet to a 30 researchers group from Universidad Francisco Gavidia, the last Friday.

Rafael Ibarra, RAICES president, emphasized how advanced network infrastructure is not just pure technology, but an open road for the development of educational and scientific projects.

Ibarra explained how and why RedCLARA was founded and how it is supported by ALICE2, EU project. Furthermore, how RedCLARA is composed by the National Research an Education Networks (NREN).

“RAICES is the Salvadoran NREN. Research entities can only connect to RedCLARA through a NRIE,” he added.

The executive director of RAICES, Juan José Sánchez, talked about several projects that are running on advanced network infrastructure in Latin America. He emphasized the work being done by the research communities in the subject natural disasters. Participants were very interested about it, after the disaster in El Salvador because rains, one week ago.

The activity also included a detailed explanation of RedCLARA services and benefits from register on the portal www.redclara.net. The exposition was in charge of Communications department.
